Robert-Martin Lesuire Bibliography

Les Sauvages de l’Europe 1760
A novel in which a young couple travel to England, the land of advanced philosophy, only to hurry back home, after near-fatal encounters with English riots, prisons, highway robberies, insane asylums and English cooking. According to Lesuire’s hero, “the only difference I see between the English and the savages of Africa is that the latter spare the fair sex.” (Possibly seeing the novel as something of a joke, a London publisher rushed an English translation into print.)
